Our family has lost two of its great servants Joseph Arthur Cazes, 90, on July 31, 2023, and Vivian Marie Cazes, 88, on August 6, 2023. Joseph was known for being a master painter, bringing home grown crops to neighbors, fixing up anything broken and lending a helpful hand to anyone in need. Vivian loved taking care of her children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking and coloring. She was most known for her delicious home-made bread and red velvet cake. Vivian and Joseph were married on December 8, 1951. They had a long and faithful 71 years of marriage, and their secret was to always keep God in the center. During their marriage, Joseph served in the Korean war where he wrote Vivian letters, always reminding her that she was his “Double Angel”. Both Joeseph and Vivian were members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and devoted their lives to serving the Lord. They always said they couldn’t live without each other and in the end they won. Their final wish will come true as they are buried together and live out the rest of their eternal lives in Heaven.
They are survived by their children, Corky Cazes (Denise), Crystal Dupuy (Jeff), and Jody Cazes (Stacey); 6 grandchildren, Brittney Ourso, Kyle Cazes, Ashton Canella, Rachel McFearin, Hunter Cazes, and Cody Cazes; great-grandchildren, Adlee Ourso, Aubrey McFearin, Gatlin McFearin, Autumn Cazes, Levi Cazes, and one on the way, Lance Cazes.
They are both preceded in death by their parents.
Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jody, Kyle, Hunter, and Cody Cazes, Matthew Canella, Brad McFearin, Jerry LeSage, Trey McClure, Troy Mire, Darby Landaiche, Glen Allen Holifield, and Shyne Doiron.
