

A retired Albemarle (Ethyl) Corporation photographer with 46 years of service and resident of Baton Rouge, JD died at his home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was 85 and a native of Plaquemine. JD had proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Myrna Ponthieu Tullier; son, Danny Tullier and wife Miriam; daughter, Aimee Harrell; and five grandsons, Christopher and Marc Tullier, Austin and Alex Harrell, and Lucas Tullier. He was preceded in death by his son, René Joseph Tullier; parents, Joseph D. Tullier, Sr. and Althea Hebert Tullier; and his in-laws, Wilson and Eola "Nano" Ponthieu. Visitation will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Matthew Dupré. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Danny, Christopher and Marc Tullier, Austin and Alex Harrell, and Eric and Jason Langlois. JD was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed his wedding photography business for over twenty years. After his retirement in 1991, JD and Myrna enjoyed traveling to Medjugorje in 1991 and France in 1996. He very much enjoyed Cajun dancing with their friends and the ongoing restoration of the country house in Bordelonville.
