
A resident of Ethel, he died on Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Baton Rouge. He was 48 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, May 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the holy rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary on Monday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jeffrey Bayhi, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vanessa Vaccaro Vince; mother, Mary Salario Vince; and brothers, sisters and in-laws, JoAnn and Donald Levatino, Robert Vince, Therese and Louis Ruffino, Loretta and Jimmy Delaura, Howard and Dorothy Vince, Kathleen and David Zumo, Elizabeth and Frank Rusciano, Craig and Luanne Vaccaro, and Frank Vaccaro Jr. He is also survived by special nieces and nephews, A.J. Vaccaro, Marisa Lees, Chris Vaccaro, Seth Vaccaro, Michael Champagne, Michelle Lynam and Mindy Levatino. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph N. Vince Sr.; and mother-in-law, Marie H. Vaccaro. Active pallbearers will be Robert Vince, Michael Champagne, Dewain Dawsey, Frank Vaccaro, Seth Vaccaro, Craig Vaccaro, A.J. Vaccaro and Stephen Waguespack. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Vaccaro, Freddie Hebert, Neil Marroy Sr. and Donald Levatino. He was an usher and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and an employee of Community Coffee. Joey was very proud of his Sicilian heritage. He enjoyed good food and good company and always greeted everyone with a smile. His light now shines in heaven and in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial Mass donations to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4727 McHugh Drive, Zachary, LA 70791, to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Baton Rouge or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
