A resident and native of Baton Rouge, Josie passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015, at age 87. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who enjoyed tending her flowers. The three loves of her life were fishing with her husband, driving the school bus and watching LSU sporting events. She was a retired school bus driver for East Baton Rouge School Board. She was a parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church. Josie is survived by her children, Jerry Goad and wife, Ida, Barbara Scates, Connie Kirst and husband, Lennie, and Jeff Goad; grandchildren, April Garsson, Ashley Deal, Norm Duhon, Brian Goad, Josh Kirst, Jeremy Kirst, and Chris Kirst, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers, Raymond and Donald Scardina; and a sister, Bonnie Wade. Preceded in death by her husband Harry Goad, Jr. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church, Wednesday, December 9, 2015, from 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the America Heart Association or St. Joseph Hospice.
