Josie died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 96 and a resident of Baton Rouge. For more than 30 years she was an employee of the Louisiana Insurance Rating Commission. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East on Monday, Dec. 22, from 11:30 a.m. until religious service at 1:30 p.m., conducted by her nephew, the Rev. David Allen. Interment in Resthaven Cemetery. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Maranto; parents, Dominic and Mary Grace Spedale; and by three sisters, Dora Spedale, Annie S. Daquano and Patricia S. Allen. She is survived by a sister, Martha S. Schaye; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her faithful favorite godchild, Wayne Daquano, and a special niece, Wayne's wife, Dianne D. Daquano. Aunt Josie was a fun-loving person and a woman with a most generous heart. She will be remembered for her kind spirit.
