Josie A. Helouin

A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her home. Josie was a beloved mother and grandmother who was devoted to her grandchildren, Jessica and Brandon Reid; and her daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Chris Reid. She was retired from Kaiser Aluminum&Chemical Corp. with 36 years of service. She had many devoted, true friends whom she loved and kept in contact with, especially her very special lifetime friend, Claire Scott, who was always by her side and cared for her, and Rosalie Agasta, a true friend and neighbor. Visitation at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerald Burns. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Helouin; and parents, Joe and Bessie Accardo. Pallbearers will be Chris Reid, Richard "Buddy" Morgan, A.J. Marabella Jr., Adam Ali, Mark Scott and J.V. Scardina. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Marabella, Stephen and Elliott Pierron, Hillar Moore III, Dr. Gerald Miletello, Dr. Michael McCarthy, Carl Helouin, Brent Helouin and Danny Van Oss. All of the above were special to me in my lifetime and my love and respect goes to all their families. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, and a member of the Third Order of Mary Society. Many thanks to all her friends and relatives for their prayers and especially her medical friends, Dr. Gerald Miletello, Dr. Michael McCarthy and their staffs. A special thanks to the oncology staff at Dr. Miletello's office for their kindness and great care. To my grandchildren, Jessica and Brandon especially, remember: If tomorrow starts without me, we are not far apart; every time you think of me, I'll be right here in you hearts.
