After a hard-fought battle with cancer, she passed away at her home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Visiting hours at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, March 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Monday, March 28, from 1 p.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, she was born Jan. 22, 1935, to Ventress Palmer and Etta Wallace. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Mutrie; sons, Mike and beloved daughter-in-law, Margie Humble, of Baton Rouge, and Cliff Humble, of Wiggins, Miss.; grandchildren, Johnny and Eric Mutrie, Mikelle Humble and Logan and Gary Humble; great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Harlee Mutrie; sister, Glancie Carter and husband Fred; brother, Ronald "Bubba" Palmer and wife Patsy; stepsister, D'ette Roux; nephew, Matt Carter; nieces, Amy and Cindy Carter; and former husband, Mike Humble. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ventress and Etta Palmer; stepfather, Thomas Clements; and son-in-law, John Mutrie.
