She was a long-term resident of Louisiana and earned a degree in Spanish at LSU. She then devoted nearly 40 years of service to Exxon Chemical Plant. Those who knew Judith will also remember her for the light she brought into everyday moments—she always had a joke to tell, offering comfort and connection.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Stacy Nugent (Ramey); her son, Chad Simmons; her granddaughter, Pacian Nugent; her sister, Vicki Taylor (Kenny); and her brothers, Gregson Payne (Patty) and Douglas Payne (Andrea).
A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government St. on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
