

Judith “Judy” Romeo Albarado, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 81. She was a graduate of St. Anthony High School (Class of 1962) and studied at Sister Schools of Notre Dame in St. Louis, MO. She went on to teach in Laurel, MS; Albuquerque, NM; and San Antonio, TX. She worked for Child Protective Services in Iberville Parish then went to work for the Department of Labor, where she retired in 2005. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for cooking and helping others. Judy is survived by husband, Rumsey Albarado, Jr. of Baton Rouge; her daughter, Angelle Albarado Ducote and husband Brian L. Ducote of Gonzales; her son, Brad Johnson and wife Nicole Johnson of Mandeville; stepson, Troy Albarado and wife Lisa LeGleu Albarado of Paincourtville; stepson, Patrick Albarado and wife Melanie LeDay Albarado of Bossier City; her devoted granddaughter, Emily Marie Ducote, along with eight other grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, eight in-laws, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she cherished deeply. She is also survived by her grand-dog, Tilly. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Emily Dugas Romeo and Joseph Romeo, Jr.; brother, Darrin Romeo; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Odette Charlet Albarado and Rumsey J. Albarado, Sr.; brother-in-law, Rogers Albarado; and sister-in-law, Judy Albarado. Visitation in her memory will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, April 9, from 6pm until 8pm, with a memorial service at 7pm.
