Katherine was born September 8, 1931 in Gilbert, Louisiana. For most of her life, Katherine was a resident of Baton Rouge. She attended Gilbert High School, and is a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. In her professional life, Katherine worked many years as a teacher, but her real passion was the life she made with her family.
Katherine was known for her servant’s heart and generous spirit. She was the first to volunteer to help with any task and gave everything she had to those she loved. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend. To Katherine, time spent with family was time best spent. She loved being surrounded by the ones she loved, listening to stories often told, and laughing at the same punchlines. Her enthusiastic spirit was infectious and her joy for life made “Gram’s house” the place to be. Her loving heart made everyone who entered her home feel welcomed, cherished, and accepted.
Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, James H. Ware, Jr., her daughter, Katherine (Kay) Ware Matuschka; her parents, Robert and Lela Rogers; her sister, Bobbye Tibbets; granddaughter, Tabatha Loup.
