
A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 74. Kelly was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was employed by G.N. Gonzales Motors for the past 46 years. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, July 23, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Will McCue. Interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Kelly is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Josie "Jo" Vince Michelli; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Allen Courville, Mary and Steve Morris, and Debbie and Scott Garretson; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Diane Michelli; nine grandchildren, Chris and Kellie Courville, Kristin, Blake and Brandon Morris, Jacob and Brandon Garretson, and Anthony and Izabella Michelli; two great-grandchildren, MaKenzie Jo and Hunter Richard; and very special niece, Jodi Shaffett Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mamie Yander Michelli; sister and brother-in-law, Rosinne "Jean" and Richard Shaffett; an infant brother; and father-in-law, Pete Vince. Pallbearers will be Allen Courville, Chris Courville, Steve Morris, Scott Garretson, Brandon Garretson, Mike "Mookie" Vince, Billy Michelli and George Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Garretson, Blake and Brandon Morris, Anthony Michelli and Hunter Richard. Giftbearers will be his granddaughters, Kristin, Kellie and Izabella. The readers for the Mass will be Ms. Carol Choplin and Ms. Betty Morris. The family wishes to thank everyone for all the many prayers and support through the years. Special thanks to Dr. Gerald Barber, Dr. Joseph Cefalu, Dr. Michael Castine, Dr. Walter Bringaze, Dr. Andy Nelson, Dr. Robin Boedefeld and the MICU staff at OLOL.
