Retired from Exxon Chemical, Kenneth passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at home. He was born March 6, 1923, and was a native of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edna Sprich Knecht; parents, Lawrence Eugene Knecht Sr. and Florence Mary Mauterer and siblings, Lawrence Eugent Knecht Jr., Thelma "Cotton" Iona Collette, Melvin Hebert Knectht and Ludwick "Dooley" Joseph Knecht. Survived by his children, Kenneth K. Knecht and wife Deborah, of St. Francisville, Scott V. Knecht and wife Linda, of Baton Rouge, and Steven G. Knecht and wife Karen, of Zachary; brother, Eugene "Gene" Victor Knecht; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Brad, Kristen, Lauren and Katy Knecht: and three great-grandchildren, Caroline and Nicholas Williams and Brayden Knecht. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, 3235 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge, on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Gary Peterson.
