A native of Kentwood and a resident of Baton Rouge, he passed on to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. He was 82 and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired after more than 30 years of service from the Louisiana Department of Corrections. He is survived by two daughters, Gwen Henderson, of Sunshine, and Sharon Clement, of Prairieville; a loving son-in-law, Clay Clement; and grandson, Brad Clement, Paw Paw's "Sun, Moon and Stars." Preceded in death by his parents, William R. Henderson Sr. and Carrie G. Henderson; brother, William R. "Billy" Henderson Jr.; daughter, Carolyn Faye; and wife, Christine Henderson. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to St. Clare Manor, in particular the staff of 300 hall for their loving care of "Mr. Kenny," to Life Source Hospice for their care and support and to his family at Graceworks Church. The lights in Tiger Stadium will somehow seem dimmer - another Tiger in heaven. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, May 22, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood, on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
