
A retired mechanical engineer from Bernard&Burk and Ethyl Corp., he died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 31, 1922, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and was a U.S. citizen since July 1944. He was a Baton Rouge resident since 1946. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. George Haile. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by a daughter, Kandi Orser Bridges, and son-in-law, R. Hunter Bridges, of Baton Rouge; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Margaret Bridges, whom he lovingly called Daisy, of Baton Rouge; two brothers and spouses, Carmen Clarence and Dorothy Orser, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Raymond Edsel and Eileen Orser, of Derby, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Ima Lee Lewis Orser; sister-in-law, Willie Bessie Lewis; parents, Clarence Bryce and Margaret Harrower Strachan Orser; and a sister, Alice Margaret Orser Durham. Pallbearers will be R. Hunter Bridges, Christopher Reid, Michael Wheeler, Ted Hansen, Paul Pendas and Murphy Bridges. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Robert and Elliott Pendas. He was a member of First Baptist Church Faith Class, Baton Rouge Power Squadron, Real Estate Exchange Club and served on the Board of Carlton Condominiums and Tara Civic Association.
