
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011. He was 75, a native of McCall and the 10th of 11 children of Clemil Brou and Palmire Robert Brou. Ken graduated from secondary school at St. Joseph's Abbey, St. Benedict, in 1954, and from LSU in 1959. He served four years in the Army and retired from Dow Chemical Co. after 30 years of employment. Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marcy McLaughlin Brou; three daughters, Laura and husband Jeff Butisbauch, Julie and husband Robert R. Singleton, and Elaine; grandchildren, Spencer and Miles Butisbauch, of Edmonds, Wash., Ryan and Jason Singleton, of Readington Township, N.J., and Tyler and Tessa Guillory, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Harold J. Brou, Dale J. Brou and Lynn A. Brou; and sisters, Marie Richard, Grace Waguespack, Joan Agosta and Margaret Pizzolato. Preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph C. Brou and Warren J. Brou; and sister, Marjorie Brou. Ken remained accepting, courageous and determined throughout his 32 years of Parkinson's disease. Visitation at St. George Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Friday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. until a funeral Mass at noon. Private burial will be in Port Hudson National Cemetery. The Brou family is grateful to Dr. Steven Zuckerman for his dedication and knowledge that assisted Ken during the challenges of his illness.
