

Kervin Paul Smith was born May 26, 1959, in Baton Rouge and passed Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at 10 p.m. from complications due to hemophilia. Kervin was a 1977 graduate of Glen Oaks High School and an active member and volunteer of the Louisiana Hemophilia Foundation. He is survived by his two beloved dogs, Jack and Cat; his parents Felix Sr. and Wynona Smith; two brothers, Felix Smith Jr. and wife Lisa, and Joey R. Smith and partner Tom Marchini; a sister, Judith S. Meyers and husband Marty "Big Daddy" Meyers; nephews, David Smith and wife Kate, Dustin Smith, and Cody Meyers and wife Lindsey; nieces, Rachael Gossett, Ashley Castello and husband Casey, Lacey Meyers, and Megan Smith; and godchild, Tasha Landry. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kervin Peter and Adeline Olivier; and paternal grandparents, Isham "Ike" and Clementine Smith. Kervin touched so many lives through his creativity as a hairstylist and his talented artistic abilities as a designer. The family would like to thank the staff of the Tulane University Medical Center SICU, especially Dr. Cindy Lessinger, Karen Wulff and Sue Dutrell, for their devotion and tender care to Kervin, the family and all families with hemophilia. Not everyone has a Bobo, and although we did not want to say goodbye, our precious Bobo has fought a long and courageous fight and God has blessed us with many more years than we could have imagined. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louisiana Hemophilia Foundation.
