Kieuoanh "Oanh" Thi Vu

A resident of Baton Rouge, and a native of Vietnam, Kieuoanh was warmly known as Oanh. She passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, peacefully at her home at the age of 62. When looking for her, there were always four places you could find her: as a seamstress at School Time, as an aunt at her sibling’s homes, a devout Christian at St. Anthony Catholic Church, or as a frequent shopper at a local Albertsons. Skilled in sewing, Oanh led a 31-year career at School Time, where she tirelessly prepared uniforms for students across Baton Rouge, ensuring each one looked their best year after year. As a member of St. Anthony and Le Van Phung Parish, she was an active participant in her prayer group, “Khu Man Coi” and “Hoi Legio.” She lit up every room with her singing, her laughter, her jokes, and her love for people. Because she did not have a family of her own or children, she loved to bring joy to every child that she met. No matter who a person was, one could always count on Oanh to have fruit to share with everyone she met. Her absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of family, friends, and coworkers—one that can never truly be filled. But she can rest in peace, knowing she will live on in all, forever remembered. She is survived by sisters, Kieuhanh Thi Vu, Thanhnhan Thi Vu, Long-Khanh Ai Thi Vu and Toan-Thuong Than Vu; brothers, Hoan Cong Vu and Luan Cong Vu; brothers-in-law, Hoan Quang Dinh and Canh Van Nguyen; and sisters-in-law, Ngoc-Hue Thi Nguyen and Nhung Thi Pham. She is preceded in death by her father, Han Van Vu; mother, Nhiem Thi Tran; and brother, An Cong Vu. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm, with a prayer service from 7pm to 8pm. Her funeral mass will take place at St. Anthony of Padua & Le Van Phung Catholic Church, 2305 Choctaw Dr., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10am, with a visitation from 9am to 9:45am. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
