He is survived by his wife, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Hồng; son, Richard Nguyễn and daughter Rachel Nguyễn. His siblings are Nguyễn Văn Đẹp, Nguyễn Thị Phương, Nguyễn Thị Nữ, Nguyễn Thị Nhi and Nguyễn Thị Chi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nguyễn Văn Hoài; mother, Nguyễn Thị Nhật; and sister, Nguyễn Thị Sen.

Lắm was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was blessed with a large and caring family. His kids were his heart and soul. Lắm enjoyed watching football, playing fetch with his two dogs and loved to joke around. In his spare time, he would help his wife in her garden and build planters and garden beds. Lắm and his siblings, although countries apart, remained close-knit all his life. He loved traveling to visit his siblings whether it was California, Vietnam or Australia. And when traveling was not possible, Facetime was a constant. He dedicated all his life being a selfless provider to his family here and abroad. He will forever be loved and remembered.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday March 13, 2026, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM with a prayer service from 7:00PM until 8:00PM.

Visitation will resume at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2305 Choctaw Dr., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday March 14, 2026, from 12:00PM until 12:50PM, following by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
