Lane Charles Haydel was born Jan. 26, 1941, in New Orleans. Lane died at 11 p.m. at his home in Central on July 31, 2010. He was retired from Tembec Corp. in St. Francisville. Lane loved watching sports, especially the New Orleans Saints and LSU football games. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janette Martin Haydel; sons, Lane "Chuck" Haydel Jr., Stephen Richard "Rick" Haydel and Russell James Haydel; brother, Michael Haydel; brother-in-law, Bob Martin; and sisters-in-law, Louise Pinkerton and Mary Ann Haydel. Lane was loved by all his family and friends. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, Russell J. Haydel and Elizabeth Weaver Haydel; and brother, R.J. Haydel.
