Laura was 99 years old and was surrounded by loving family members, when God brought her home.
Laura’s long & exciting life was filled with raising her children and traveling, while nurturing a passion for art and helping those in need. The Laura Simon Nelson Galleries for Louisiana Art at The Historic New Orleans Collection was her way of sharing the great art of Louisiana with the world.
A longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Laura spent many hours dedicating her life to God and her family. She went on to spread her love of our Lord by teaching religion to children for 60 years.
Laura is beginning an eternal and beautiful adventure.
Laura brightened the lives of all who knew her through her gracious attitude, shining smile, and her trademark greeting to everyone as Beautiful. She had a way of making everyone she met feel loved, important and happy. She was a blessing to this world and will be sorely missed.
