Lillian R Parent

Lillian Louise Ryder Parent passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 92. Lillian was born in Basile, Louisiana on September 1, 1931. She spent 34 years working as an Auditor for the state of Louisiana.

She always loved traveling, camping and exploring. Becoming a mother did not slow her down; she loved planning big adventures for her family. She gave all of her children amazing life experiences & an adventurous spirit. Later in life, she traveled the world with her friends.

In addition to traveling, she had a green thumb and loved getting her hands dirty in the garden. She loved attending sporting events from LSU and the Saints to whatever sports her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were playing. She was an amazing cook and loved preparing meals for her large family and friends. Lillian was a faithful servant in her community as a volunteer for both Oshner Medical Center and LSU Track and Field. She was a Parishioner of St. Patrick church.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Hope (Ricky), and Michelle Guidroz (Doug); son, James Parent Jr “Skip”; grandchildren, Chante’ McRae (David), Jacob Ferchaud (Tim), Chris Ferchaud (Jana), Ashley Vonkurnatowski (Zeff), Katie Chaffin (Grant), Amie Stockstill (Joel), Ricky Hope Jr., Doug Guidroz Jr. (Brooke), Dainel Guidroz, and Jason Guidroz; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Henderson (Daryl), and Linda Boudreaux (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Hattie Ryder; daughter, Angelle Carpenter; sister Vivian Baxter (Roland); and step-brother, Terry Ellis.

The family of Lillian Parent would like to thank the staff of St. Clare Manor for their loving care and support.

A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, from 10:00am until funeral service time of 11:00am
