
Lois Ross Dickhute, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on Monday, November 11, at her home in Baton Rouge. Born February, 1937, in Longville, LA, she resided in Lake Charles for 15 years before moving to Baton Rouge in August, 1977. She was a member of Family of Faith Church in Baton Rouge. She retired from Albemarle Corporation in 1999. She graduated from Longville High School in 1954, and received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from McNeese State University in 1958. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority at McNeese State. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Kinney E. Dickhute, children, Brian C. Dickhute of Buford, GA, Robert J. Dickhute and Brett K. Dickhute, both of Baton Rouge, daughters-in-law Renee Bahlinger Dickhute of Buford, GA, and Stephanie Cain Dickhute of Baton Rouge. Also survived by her brothers Hayes E. Ross, Jr., and William J. Ross, and sisters Rita Brown and Linda Berchey. Six grandchildren - Morgan Dickhute Batson, Kathleen R. Dickhute, Christopher B. Dickhute, Anna Marie Dickhute, Madison B. Dickhute, Reagan L. Dickhute, and one great grandson Hampton Barry Batson. Preceded in death by her parents, Hayes E. Ross, Sr. and Willie Lee Ross, and son Barry G. Dickhute. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home - East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, in Baton Rouge on Thursday, November 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, and on Friday, November 15, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, at 11:00 AM, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home-East, officiated by Rev. Joel Davis. Interment will be at Barentine Cemetary in Longville, LA, on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 3:00 PM under the directions of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
