Lola Ruth Grant was born on January 7, 1931, in Baton Rouge, LA, to Alvin and Versie Grant. She passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 14, 2023, surrounded by her family. She married Joseph Benoit on June 1948. Lola enjoyed a full life raising her family, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She loved her flowers and working in the yard. She enjoyed hosting all kinds of family gatherings. Lola loved Jesus and was a member of the Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary, LA, at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Joseph D. Benoit. She had three children - one son, Randall Benoit of Zachary, LA, and two daughters, Dahlia Allen (Sidney) of Athens, AL, and Faith Benoit-Martin (Teddy) of Zachary LA. Lola is survived by four grandsons, Greg Cowan (Jolie) of Athens, AL, Korey Cowan (Stephanie) of Madison, AL, Clifton Bullock of Zachary, LA, and Lea Benoit (Libby) of Zachary, LA. In addition, four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and her BFF, Hazel Sumner. Lola was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Clifton Grant (AC); her mother, Versie Johnson Grant; two brothers, Alvin Clifton Grant (Jr) and Marshall Grant; and one sister, Brenda Moore. Family and Friends are invited to the visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge) on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 10 am - noon. The funeral will be officiated by Pastor Campbell Silman immediately following visitation. Pallbearers will be Lea Benoit, Clifton Bullock, Hunter Bullock, Greg Cowan, Korey Cowan, and Teddy Martin. Sidney Allen will be an honorary pallbearer. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory (11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge) following the funeral service.
