Loriee Jean Bares passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the age of 64. She was a native of Galveston, TX and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Loriee liked things done a particular way, her way. Just ask Barbara. She loved baking and decorating cakes for her family and friends for ANY occasion. She was not only a mother to her son, she was also one to her nieces and nephews. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her one and only granddaughter, her heart, her sunshine, Ava. Sleepovers, waterpark outings and taking care of Honey, MawMaw’s dog, were their favorite activities. Loriee is survived by her son, Phillip Carnell and fiancée, Alyssa Keith; granddaughter, Ava Carnell; sisters, Cyndi Bares and Barbara Hobizal and husband, Matt; her dog, Honey; and a host of other loving family and friends. Loriee is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Bares; brother, David Lee Bares; and niece, Crystal Patterson. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 12pm until the time of memorial services at 2pm.
