Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Lynda Susan Duke Habig went to be with the Lord at noonSunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at the age of 45. She was a native of Baton Rouge, a resident of Central and a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Lynda was a member ofZoarBaptistChurchand a certified court reporter with numerous years in the legal field. Visiting atZoarBaptistChurchon Tuesday, Nov. 7, was from 5 p.m.to 9 p.m.Visiting resumes at the church Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m.until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Kevin Hand and Brother Glen Miers. Burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Charles Bernard "Charlie" Habig Jr., with whom she would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 9; daughters, Lacey Marie and Alyssa Ray Habig; son, Charles Bernard "Trey" Habig III; stepdaughter, Lindsey Leigh Habig; mother, Marilyn McCall Duke; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn Duke Onstead and Jeff Onstead; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin Ray Duke and Sherrell Fabre Duke; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina Habig Territo and Joseph Territo; sister-in-law, Charlene Habig Roppolo and husband Lawrence Roppolo; nieces, Lauryn Onstead Gehling and husband Lance Cpl. Thomas Keith Gehling, Sarah Kathryn Onstead, Jennifer Duke Warren and husband Walter Warren, Amanda Leigh Duke, Meghan Elizabeth Duke; nephews, Jason Paul Onstead and wife Rachelle Rodriquez Onstead and Kevin Territo; and special friends, Lorie Weeks, Margie Betts and Daphne McCann. She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd Ray Duke; and grandparents,Nevaand Robert B. McCall Jr. and Susie and Alton Boyd Duke. Pallbearers will be Mike Betts, Larry Weeks, Lance Butler, Jason Onstead, Joseph Territo and Michael Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Judge Chip Moore and Lawrence Roppolo.
