Surrounded by her family in the Broadmoor home her father built, Mamie Jean Nicholas Muscarello entered the Kingdom of our Lord on July 13, 2021 at the age of 85. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 50 years, Philip J. Muscarello, Sr., her precious son, Philip J. Muscarello Jr., his wife Pammi Sloan Muscarello, her parents Anthony & Sarah Nicholas, her twin sister Margaret Joyce "Trudy" Nicholas and many other family members and friends. Mamie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 7, 1935. She attended Sacred Heart School and was a Class of 1953, St. Joseph's Academy graduate where her faith in God was rooted. Mamie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She had a fierce love for her family who her entire world revolved around. Her Maggio and Nicholas cousins were her best friends as well as the entire Marino family and the bond they all shared was like no other. When not busy in the kitchen cooking something delicious, serving our Lord at St. Thomas More Adoration, hosting fabulous dinner parties or planning the annual Krewe of Muskie Mardi Gras event, she enjoyed hummingbird watching and bream fishing at the family False River Camp which was her happy place. Her love of music and dancing was infectiously passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was such a kind soul and a master at entertaining family and friends. She was so proud to prepare and serve spaghetti, meatballs and muffalettas at St. Thomas More Fair's Italian Connection booth and if you did not accept her offer of a plate of food at her home, she was not happy. There was always plenty for everyone! To celebrate the legacy of her life, Mamie leaves behind her devoted daughters Toni Muscarello (Michael Pizzolato) and Joni Muscarello Leggio both of Baton Rouge, her son Samuel Muscarello (Anne) of Placerville, CA, her grandchildren Lacie Leggio Brown (Matt) of San Antonio, TX, Nicholas Goff and Joseph Muscarello, both of Baton Rouge, Sarah Grace and Michael Muscarello, both of Placerville, CA, her great grandchildren Benjamin and August Brown, both of San Antonio, TX and Charlee Rose Pizzolato Muscarello of Baton Rouge. Special relatives and friends will carry her to her final resting place beside her beloved Phil. With heartfelt gratitude, the family would like to thank the exceptional caregivers at Sunrise Senior Living and Hospice of Baton Rouge. (Laura, Tiffany, Brent S, Brent G, Jynell, Kim and many others). Visitation will take place at St. Thomas More Church on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Academy or St. Thomas More Church, both in Baton Rouge. Enjoy your reward of Eternal Peace, Mother, and thank you for being the most loving mother of all time. You were so good to us! Our wonderful memories will live in our hearts forever. We love and honor you. Toni, Joni, Sammy and the late Phil, Jr.
