

Margaret “Marzie” Liuzza Harrison passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born September 5, 1927 to Josephine Loria and Oscar Liuzza. Marzie was a kind and loving mother and friend. She was a dedicated retired personal assistant to Bert Turner at Turner Industries, where she worked for 28 years. Upon her retirement Marzie volunteered with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for several years. At the age of 68 Marzie began dancing with the Jammin Grannies. Her love of dancing brought her to entertain at social functions and many nursing homes. She enjoyed playing Bourre’ and going to the casinos. We know there will be a special seat at the table for her.
Marzie is survived by her children, Cathryn “Cathy” Braud (Johnny), Nicki Fontenot (Joe), Josephine “Jolen” Gauthreaux, and Todd Harrison (Kristy); 9 grandchildren, Chris Braud, Amy Gilleo, Lauren Champagne, Troy and Gabriel Fontenot, Cory and Dell Gauthreaux, and Madilyn and Audrey Harrison; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Claud “Coach” Harrison; parents, Oscar and Josephine Liuzza; sisters, Philippine Manno (Frank), Agnes Martin, Gloria Radelat; and son-in-law, Lloyd Gauthreaux.
A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on August 12, 2022 from 9 am until Mass of Christian burial at 10 am. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Troy and Gabe Fontenot, Chris Braud Jacques Fontenot, Randy Gilleo, Cory and Dell Gauthreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Braud, Breauxdy Gauthreaux.
Special thanks to our sister Jolen and nephew Cory for their constant love and support through Mommas last few years. Thank you to her caregivers Cat and Cricket and to the wonderful nurses with Hospice of Baton Rouge.
