

"Margaret was born August 27, 1933 to the late Edward and Bernice Alleman Kuhnert in Baton Rouge. She passed away December 5, 2017, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center at age 84. In her twilight years she was a resident of Southside Gardens and was a friend of many, including residents and staff alike. Many times she could be found, with the other residents, cheering for her LSU team. Margaret was a retired elementary school teacher for the Houston Independent School District. She was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and bingo. She also enjoyed attending gem and jewelry shows, and collecting crystal and cut glass. She received her BA from L.S.U. and was an avid L.S.U. fan who enjoyed accessorizing in purple and gold. Margaret is survived by her sister, Trudy Gohmann, brother, Edward Kuhnert and wife Kitty; nieces, Anna Gohmann, Mary Alice Scott, and husband Michael; nephews, Josh Kuhnert, and wife Amy, John Gohmann, and wife Katie; grandnieces, Caroline and Adelaide Kuhnert; and numerous cousins. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 2 pm until 4 pm, and Monday, December 11, 2017, after 9 am until services at 10 am. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be sent to the Capital Area Family Domestic Violence Center at P.O. Box 54041, Baton Rouge, LA 70892.
