

Marie Eve Chenevert, longtime resident of Baton Rouge and native of Pointe Coupee Parish, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Amber Terrace Assisted Living in Baton Rouge at the age of 94. Eve was a devoted wife and an outstanding mother to her two sons. She was a proud member of the Carmelite Order and the Catholic Daughters of America. Eve was a devout Catholic who made prayer an important part of her life, and was instrumental in having Holy Communion brought to those in nursing homes in the Baton Rouge area. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, C. Shafter Chenevert; son, C.S. “Skip” Chenevert Jr.; parents, Donica and Laura Jarreau; 2 brothers; and 1 sister. Eve is survived by her son, Timothy Chenevert and his wife Gigi; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Chenevert; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Med-Pass, St. Joseph Hospice, and Amber Terrace Assisted Living, especially Sheila, who called Eve, MawMaw, and would bring her to life when she was around. Services will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd. Baton Rouge 70815 on Thursday, July 10, 2014 with visitation from 10:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 12:00pm; and recitation of the rosary will be at 10:30am during the visitation.
