
A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was born Dec. 6, 1946. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Gabriel, on Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Greg Daigle, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gary Melancon; six children, Kathy Conques and husband Tony, Teri Clements, John Clements, Jeff Clements and wife Daphne, Heather Fraley and husband Lee, and Hilary Adams and husband Darian; 15 grandchildren, Jordan Clements, Tyler Hilbun, Kristin Friedley, Taylor Avants, Justin Fraley, Kimberly Avants, Lindsay Conques, Payton Clements, Colby Ramsey, Meghan Conques, Kayln Avants, Anna Conques, Hunter Clements, Mallory Walley and Ani Clements; special friends, Janice Thomas, Margaret Melancon and Libby Elliott; and cousins, Huey and Edna Sexton and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard L. and Nadine H. Collins. Pallbearers will be Tony Conques, Lee Fraley and Jordan Clements, Butch Avants and Steve and Bob Melancon.
