"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. These words exemplify how our beloved "Honey" lived her long and happy life of 91 years, blessed with a firm faith and joy in the Lord, a wonderful marriage, loving sons, grandsons and extended family, as well as a multitude of dear friends. She "danced her way into heaven" at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010. She lived the majority of her life in St. Gabriel, where she was born and reared. She was proud to be an educator who devoted more than 25 years to the teaching profession and the lives of young children. After their children were grown, she and her husband, Colby, moved to Baton Rouge, where she lived the remainder of her life, actively involved in civic organizations, various charities, and Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardee and Ada LeBlanc; her husband of 64 years, Colby Sebastien LaPlace; brothers, Bill LeBlanc and Gordon LeBlanc; and a sister, Mary Ada Williams. The family would like to thank George Williams, a specially loved nephew for his kindness, caring and compassion; many thanks also to her dedicated caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Dunham School, 11111 Roy Emerson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. "Honey" will be remembered for her sharp wit, sense of humor, sense of style and fashion, her love of music and dancing; and most of all, her love of people. She never met a stranger. She was a true Southern belle like no other, and we will miss her more than you know "¦ Dah'lin!
