

Marjorie Hammond Russell of Baton Rouge passed Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. Marjorie was born October 21, 1933 to James and Lera Hammond. She grew up in North Baton Rouge and graduated from Istrouma High School. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her God given talent was caring for others. She opened her home to care for working mother’s children and they became her extended family who loved her dearly. She cared for their children as if they were her own. All of her little ones and her grandchildren called her Me-me and Mawmaw Marjorie. Her greatest joy was her home and spending time together with her family.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Debra Russell Fletcher, her son-in-law, Rick Fletcher, sons Richard Russell, and Ruston Russell. Grandchildren- Lorrie Campbell, Ronnie White, Jr. (Amanda), Melissa Gregg(Jarrod), Taryn Russell, Tristin Russell, and Chase Fletcher. Great Grandchildren- Colby Campbell(Emma), Kayla Campbell, Caden Campbell, Alyssa Campbell, Caroline White, Hayden Erdey, Braeden and Presley Gregg.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert “Bobby” Russell, son Robert Keith Russell, her father James B. Hammond, mother Lera Hammond, brothers James Norris Hammond and J. Gordon Hammond, daughter-in-law Erica Russell, and Granddaughter’s husband William Blake Campbell.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Greenoaks Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Tom Higginbotham. Pallbearers will be Ronnie White ,Jr., Colby Campbell, Caden Campbell, Jarrod Gregg, Braeden Gregg, and Brice Case.
