

Marvin, 94, went Home to be with his Lord Jesus on Dec 4, 2021. A resident of Centre, AL, and a former resident of Baton Rouge. He retired from Allied Signal/Honeywell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay, GA and a former member of Parkview Baptist Church in Baton Rouge,LA. Born Oct.14, 1927 to Walter Leon and Ida Belle Lewis Rushing and raised in White Castle, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents; and by his sisters, Wilma, Mildred, Essie, Carolyn, Jeanne; and his brothers, Walter, Jimmy, Stanley and Carl. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Orr Rushing; his sister, Dorothy Cook and brother, Gerald; and children, Pamela “Sam” Corvin (Ed) and W. Mark Rushing; and grandchildren, Robin Johnson, Terri Hill, Lynn Corvin and David Corvin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin served in the Army in the Korean War attached to the Air Force and has 2 service stars. He was a real estate broker and taught real estate law. He liked gardening, hunting, LSU and all sports. After retiring he and his wife moved to the mountains of Ellijay, GA where he and his wife had a wonderful time exploring and making friends. Seven months ago they moved to Centre, AL near their daughter. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 10:00AM until the time of funeral services at 1:30PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
