

"Our beautiful mother died at 2:25 a.m. Friday, June 08, 2018 at her home surrounded by children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and loving mother of 12 children raised on Beech Street in North Baton Rouge. The School Sisters of Notre Dame taught Mom to play the organ when she was a young girl at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School. She devoted her life to playing the organ at St. Gerard and most recently at St. Agnes and on occasion at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She was an excellent cook, creative quilter and loved the beach. Mom was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and attended Louisiana State University. She is survived by her children: Mary and Tom Acosta; Martha Broussard; Milton Charles Broussard Jr; Jeanne Broussard, Laura and Ken Duhe; Donna Broussard; Alex and Pam Broussard; Maurice Broussard, Ella Broussard; Jane Broussard and William Clarke; Martin and Sarah Broussard; and Gabrielle Broussard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Charles Broussard, Sr. and three grandchildren, William Matthew Acosta, Ann Marie Acosta and Benjamin Jerome Broussard. She also is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Gertrude Major Guillot, and brothers Mark, Thomas "Spec" and Alexander Guillot. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jude Broussard, Adam Duhe, Charles Broussard, Alex Broussard, Lucas Broussard, Noah Broussard, Ben Broussard. Other survivors include, granddaughters Emily Broussard, Cecilia Broussard, Grace Duhe, Mary Clarke, Jane Clarke, Mary Olivia Broussard, Emma Duhe, Isabella Broussard, Claire Broussard. Also survived by a loving sister-in-law Lorraine Robillard Guillot. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street. Visitation will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Church with the funeral mass at 11 a.m. We will take mom home to be buried next to Daddy at St. Gabriel Cemetery in St. Gabriel. Memorial donations may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church or the Missionaries of Charity at St. Ages. Mom was a member of the Third Order of Mary.
