

Mary M. Carlino, 89, of Baton Rouge, passed away in Baton Rouge on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. Ms. Carlino was born Jan. 22, 1922, to John and Christine Maranto, in Plaquemine. She was a homemaker, a devout Catholic and past member of St. Gerard Majella Parish. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting and spending time with her family. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy C. Carlino Sr.; and two brothers, A.J. and Frank Maranto. Her survivors include her four daughters, Christine "Tina" Carlino, of San Mateo, Calif., Lucretia "Luanne" Vaccaro and husband Craig, of Zachary, Mary Catherine Gibbens and husband Troy and Lisa Whiteside, all of Baton Rouge; two sons, Jimmy Carlino Jr. and wife Stephanie, of Denham Springs, and Sam John "Johnny" Carlino, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Stella Miceli and Christine "Bebe" Timpa, both of Baton Rouge; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Frank Lamuth, Anthony Joseph "A.J." Vaccaro, Christopher Vaccaro, Lee Maranto, Joe Timpa and David Young. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Gerald Barber and Dr. Amy Giarrusso. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Thursday, Jan. 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 6, from 10 a.m. until service at 11:30 a.m.
