Mary Sadie Darensbourg

A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Lafayette, she passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Baton Rouge General-Mid City at age 80.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph E. Darensbourg; eight children, Lorene Domingue,  David "Brian" and wife, Jane, Jeff, Amy and husband Ira Holbrook, all of Baton Rouge, Joe "Keith" and wife Roberta, of Houston, TX, Brenda, of Prairieville, Jennifer and husband Leonard Porche, Sr., of Scott, LA, and Jason, of Queens, NY; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Anthony and wife Louise Rozier; and one sister, Betty Honore.  Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alma Rozier; son-in- law, Kevin Roche; brother-in-law, Harvey Honore, Sr.  A parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sadie was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Third Order of Mary, Shoenstat Shrine, and Our Lady Queen of Peace Rosary Group.  Visitation will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church,749 East Boulevard, Saturday, July 5, 2014 beginning at 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Monsignor Robert Berggreen.  Recitation of the rosary will be at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street.
