
A retired licensed practical nurse and a resident of Denham Springs, she died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home, Denham Springs. She was 85 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Jan. 10, was from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Sandy Creek Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by a son, Richard Darrel Edwards; a stepdaughter, Juanita E. Laird; 14 grandchildren, Bruce Bahm and wife Teresa, Gwendolyn Rahaim and husband Samuel, Deron Bahm and wife Betty, Juanica Nevels and husband Alvin, Tony Baham III and wife Amanda, Tonya Cambre and husband Jeremy, Trenton Baham, Tuesdae Blount and husband Matt, Cheryl Edwards, Murphy Edwards, Sherri Gomez, Dale Humphrey, Brent Humphrey and wife Van, and Terri Covington; and 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Leon Edwards; parents, George W. and Maggie Stevens Shirey; two sons, Tony M. Baham Jr. and Carroll Bruce Edwards; sister, Doris S. Mulkey; brother, George J. Shirey; and two half-brothers, Edward and Wallace Kayzar. Pallbearers will be Bruce, Dino, Jeremy, Devin and Austin Bahm, Tony Baham III, Tony M. Baham and Dale Humphrey. She was a very active member of Victory Life Temple.
