
Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Ithaca, N.Y., Mary Lee Moreland Eggart, 81, died at her home in Baton Rouge on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010. She graduated from Dufroq Elementary School, Baton Rouge High School and LSU. She was arts and crafts director for the Baton Rouge CYO and later served on its board for many years. She was a retired teacher of American and Louisiana history at Broadmoor Junior High School. A lifelong member and tireless volunteer in numerous ministries at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, she was proud of the fact that both she and the parish were born in December 1928. She was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee Eggart and Clyde C. LeBlanc; and brother and sister-in-law, William L. Moreland and Muriel K. Moreland. Preceded in death by her parents, Hilda Martinez Moreland and Charles Fred Moreland; and husband, Al David Eggart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Parish Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, 2250 Main St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 12, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
