Mary Grace Jones

"Mary Grace Jones, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away from this earth to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born on January 2, 1934, in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Greenwell Springs. She was a current member of St. Alphonsus Ligouri. She will be deeply missed by her children, Debbie Jones Duplantis and husband Jerry Lee, Russell M. Jones and fiancée Cheryl Sanchez, Carolyn Jones Hunt and husband Chuck, and Todd A. Jones and wife Diane; grandchildren, Amanda Jones Mizell and boyfriend Jamie Dunaway, Annie Duplantis Borill and husband Ryan, Melissa Jones David and husband Glenn, Jerry Duplantis Jr. and wife Andrée, Madeline Hunt and boyfriend Tanner White, Nicholas Jones and Katie Jones; great-grandchildren, Savannah Babin and Willow Mizell, Luke, Noah and Jude Borill, Kade Repp and Kolt David, Tyler, Zachary and Zane Duplantis; sister and brother-in-law, Cecile and L.J. Nobles. Her pride and greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, and watching birds. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, J. M. "Sonny" Jones, parents, Randolph and Virgie Dentro; brothers, Sammy, Andrew, Sydney, Joseph and Randy Dentro, and sisters, Virginia Dentro Atkinson and Anna Mae Dentro, and niece, Virgie Nobles Gernant. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her humility, her caring nature, her unwavering devotion to her family, her lasagna, her delicious strawberry pound cake, and all of her beautiful Thanksgiving pies. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church on Thursday, June 29, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Mike Maroney. Special thanks to The Hospice of Baton Rouge especially Amanda, Katherine, Karen, Todd, and all the other employees who supported her family through this journey.
