Mary Tranchina Monson passed on Sunday, May 11th, 2025, after living with leukemia for 3 years. Mary Preceded in death by her husband Andrew of 48 years. She is survived by her 3 children: Patricia Deen (Ken), Kenneth (Lill) and son Andrew. She was the loving grandmother of Michelle, Jerome, Aleesha and great- grandchildren. From the small town of Bayou Goula, she started working after graduating from White Castle High. She had a long career in Hospitality, working at local hotels and restaurants until the Covid pandemic sidelined her career at 92. Mary was most notable as she enjoyed time at The Sheraton Hotel and the Holiday Inn where they named the coffee shop after her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral service on Friday, May 16th, 2025 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. 70815 at 10:00 AM.
Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the American Cancer Society
