It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Louise Schroeder Freiberg, who departed this life at the age of 97 on Holy Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. She was a cherished mother whose laughter, warmth, common sense, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone she met. Her gentle spirit, resilience, and kindness were felt in every moment she shared with family and friends.
Throughout her long and full life, she devoted herself to taking care of her family, giving us a home and always protecting us. She spent many hours working in the garden, canning, freezing food and cooking all while working full time and for years working more than one job. She sewed dresses for her two young daughters. While recovering from the loss of her first-born son, Keith, when he was 19 years old in 1968, she spent many hours crocheting bedspreads and table covers. She learned to knit and make sweaters. Later in life she enjoyed dancing at the BREC-daytime dances and meeting new friends. She attended the Ladies Bible Study and Sunday worship services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and knowledge of Jesus Christ that will continue to guide us. Her presence will be dearly missed, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
She is survived by her son, John R. LeMoine, Jr., daughter, Karen LeMoine Pitre. Grandchildren, Roy K. Baggett, Ernie L. Baggett, Christine Wolf Williams, Patrick D. LeMoine (Mackenzie), Robert K. LeMoine, great grandchildren, Sage LeMoine, Penelope Baggett, Eden Baggett, Elijah Baggett, Jane Williams and Juniper Williams.

We invite friends and loved ones to join us in celebrating her life and honoring the resilient woman she was. May she rest in peace. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 15160 S. Harrells Ferry Road, Baton Rouge, LA, with funeral services starting at 1:00pm.
