On January 1, 2022, Mary Anne Williams Singletary died peacefully at the age of 92 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1929, in Jackson, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School and was salutatorian of her class. Mary Anne was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and enjoyed teaching 9-year-old children about Jesus and the Bible. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Denham Springs for 45 years. Mary Anne was a seamstress, professional quilter and a quilting instructor. She formed the Cajun Country Quilters in Gonzales and served on the board of the Gulf States Quilting Association. She taught many quilt classes and helped further the art of quilting. She loved gardening and had the most gorgeous flower beds filled with beautiful roses and seasonal flowers. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her four children, Glenn Singletary and wife Lisa, Neal Singletary, Brent Singletary and wife Janice, and Gayle Singletary McGee and husband Jody: eight grandchildren, Amy, Ashleigh, Neal Jr., Heather, Sharon, Jason, Philip Wade, and Brena; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, India Graham and Eva Dillman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Lowell Phillip Singletary; parents Omar and Emma Williams; and brother, Robert Williams. Visitation at First Pentecostal Church, Denham Springs on Wednesday, January 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with memorial service at 7 p.m. A private family burial will be held Thursday, January 6 at 11 a.m. at Faithful Methodist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be former Sunday School students. Special thanks for the love and care provided by Rev. Billy Johnson, Bro.
