Mary W. Tarver passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the age of 100. She was a native of Palatka, Florida and a resident of Baton Rouge over 60 years. Mary was a Histology Technician, retired from Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge and taught Sunday School more than 60 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Lewis J. Tarver, parents Hamp and Verdie Lamb Douglas, brothers Harry H. (Frances), Charles J. (Johnnie Bell), Jack D., Jerry J. (Carrie), John R., and sister Inez D. Senters (Grover). Mary is survived by her sister Nellie D. Murray (Walter) of Satsuma, FL, sister-in-law Ava Douglas of Plant City, FL, and four generations of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from Noon until religious service at 2:00pm, Pastors Oren Conner and Larkin Harris officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park (9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815). Pallbearers will be Hal Dupuy, Luke Hargus, Danielle Harris, Hannah Marchand, Jason Marchand, and Billy Murray. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, 529 Convention Street 70802, or charity of choice.
