Maxine was a wonderful mother and Grandma/Mimi who loved her family dearly. She treasured the time she spent taking walks around the neighborhood with whomever would go with her and loved feeding the birds in her backyard. She was a talented cook, and she passed that talent down to her kids. Her homemade candy, cornbread dressing and seafood dressing was second to none. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Maxine is survived by her children, Regina Thompson, Charles Babin, Jr. (Madeline), Rory Babin (Kay), Randy Babin, Chris Babin, and Mike Bass (Kim); grandchildren, Jennifer Ward (Jason), Derek Thompson, Uriah Babin (Rebecca), Joshua Babin (Monique), Jacob Babin, Brianne Babin, Jared Babin, Brian Freeman (Jessica), Kayna Babin, Randi Cickavage (Joe), Eve Torres (Caleb), Kaley Schloss (Jeremy), Shelby Graham (Noah), and Raxx the dog; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Breaux; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Wilson and Trody Perry; grandchildren, Clifton Dale Babin and Rosalind Maxine Torres; siblings, Mack “Uncle Buck” Perry, Alice Mae Gomez, Gladys Kelley, and Marion “Mecky” Cochran; and close friends, Betty Falcon, Delores Covington, Estelle Gremillion, and Una “Cootie” Castille. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2250 Main St., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 11am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm.
