

Maxine Foster Marvin, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her home at the age of 93. She was born on June 23, 1923 in Heflin, LA. Maxine lived her life to the fullest and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Winona Marvin Cherry and husband John, Wanda Marvin Siverd and husband Clifton, S.F. “Chip” Marvin and wife Laura, and Mary Marvin DuCote and husband Gerard; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Jack Emmett Foster and wife Dot; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Schuyler Farrar Marvin Sr.; father, Cornelius Emmett Foster; mother, Bertha Cooper Foster; grandson, Russell Marvin Dedon; and sister, Fay Foster Pettus. Special thanks to Alexis, who mother considered her other daughter, for her loving care. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Graveside service will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM, officiated by Bro. George Haile. A reception will follow the graveside service at Greenoaks Funeral Home Camellia Room. Pallbearers are Allen Tingle, Johnny Dedon, Taylor DuCote, Chase Marvin, Michael Cherry, and Schuyler Tingle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maxine’s name to a charity of your choice.
