
Little did we know that morning God would call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development with 38 years of service, he passed away on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 66 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, Sept. 12, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until a celebration of Melvin's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jan Manhannah. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Peggy Billeaudeau Bueche; daughter, Cathy Bueche O'Neal and husband Patrick; stepdaughter, Bambi Michelle Pizzolato; brother, James Bueche and wife Joann; and granddaughter, Meghan O'Neal. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sheryl Dean Bueche; and parents, Frank and Rachel Bueche. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Memorial donations may be made to CAAWS or local animal shelter.
