
A resident of Baton Rouge, native of Lutcher and retired from Exxon after 34 years of service, he died at age 94 on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Friday, Nov. 11, from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his son, Mervin Sidney Louque, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty L. Rhodes and husband Steve, Fairfax, Va., and Patricia 0. Louque, Baton Rouge; an adopted granddaughter, Brandi L. Hohensee and husband Thomas, College Station, Texas; three granddaughters, Michelle C. Venable, Charlette L. David and husband Johnny, and Alx Louque; grandson, Micheal Clint Casey; and eight great-grandchildren, Kayci, Brittni and Morgan Venable, Jori, Carson and Sutton Hohensee, Faith and Grace David. Preceded in death by his wife, Kermit M. Louque; parents, Paul and Louisa Louque; sister, Pauline L. Arceneaux; and six brothers, Oscar, Alfred, Wilson, Paul, Morgan and Cyril Louque. Pallbearers will be Mervin S. Louque Jr., Micheal Clint Casey, Thomas M. Hohensee, Johnny David, Thomas L. Bartlett and Mark J. Venable. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Special thanks to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and the Louisiana Hematology Oncology nurses and staff.
