

Michael Ray Dedon passed peacefully with his wife Renée and mother Annie Ruth by his side on September 18, 2015 at the age of 64. Mike was a native of Baton Rouge, and a retiree who enjoyed woodworking and pen turning.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years Renée. His mother Annie Ruth Dedon, and sons Brian Dedon and wife Kristen, Corey Dedon, Gerald Dedon and wife Leslie. His grandchildren Jacob and Avery Dedon, and Liam Dedon; brother Daryl Dedon and wife Lorraine; sisters Jackie Shar and husband Ronald, and Patti Fugler. Mother-in-law Barbara Michael, father-in-law John Michael, sister-in-law Cynthia Michael and brother-in-law Joseph Michael and wife Cayce. Nieces and nephews, an extended cajun in-law family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob “Red” Dedon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge on Monday September 21, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm and on Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 10am until funeral service at 11am. Entombment will follow at St. George Mausoleum.
Mike also loved his 3 dogs, Thibodeaux, Roscoe and Chloe, and his wishes were that in lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Mike believed in the school's mission to teach, to heal and to discover. Your gift to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Mike's honor will help the school to make great strides in advancing cures for cancer in animals and in humans, teaching future scientists and veterinarians, and healing our beloved companions.
