"Michael "Buster" Ray Fitzgerald, 67, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on September 29, 2018. He was a 1970 graduate of Baton Rouge High, who went on to serve in the US Army. He worked in the gravel pit industry for years, and was a member of the Local 406 Union as an operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who spent most of his time outdoors, and with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wright Fitzgerald, and mother, Mary Newton Fitzgerald. He is survived by: his son, Michael James Fitzgerald; daughter, Kristin Fitzgerald Dupuy and husband Nicholas; and his grandsons, Beau Taylor, Brody Wade and Barrett Ace Dupuy. Pallbearers will be David Dupuy, Nathan Dupuy, Nicholas Dupuy, Keith Fogle, Wayne McDaniel, and Amos Smith. Thank you to Old Jefferson Community for the care provided, and to the Healing Place Church for their outpouring of love and support. Special thanks to his sister, Yvonne Boe, and lifetime friends, Wayne McDaniel and Amos Smith, for their ongoing love, support, and commitment to Buster. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
