Mike lived a very full life. He retired twice, once as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 995 for 68 years and again as an electrical maintenance supervisor for LSU Facility Services. While trained as an electrician, Mike could perform many types of construction and maintenance activities. He helped numerous family members and friends with home electrical projects and helped each of his sons to build their homes. He loved fishing and over his life he owned quite a few different camps where he and Yvonne enjoyed being in the outdoors. Mike was a hunter in his early life but gave that up for fishing in his later years. Mike did not tolerate laziness in his own life and had similar expectations for those with whom he worked. He never backed down from a challenge and was always ready to learn how to accomplish a new task. He was a humble man who quietly instilled a strong work ethic in his sons and his coworkers. Mike was proud of his family and loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Special thanks to his caregivers Kathy Wilson and Keshia Jarrell, the care teams at Audubon Home Health and Pinnacle Hospice, and the staff at OLOL, especially Dr. Mark Kantrow, Dr. Curt Soileau and Dr. Bryan Nuss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Mike’s name to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the St. Alphonsus Catholic School.
